Our Curriculum

We teach our students to contribute positively to social interactions with other children. We also believe that children are individual learners and we structure our curriculum to fit each child’s individual needs.

We emphasize academic development, which includes; cognitive and language development, writing, literacy, mathematics, science, Spanish, art, dramatic play, and sensory development. In addition, we integrate these Common Core values:

  • Building children’s self-esteem

  • Promoting social skills

  • Developing listening

  • Building comprehension

  • Encouraging children to follow directions and school rules

We endeavor to send our students off well-versed in the kindergarten curriculum, ready to take the next years of school in stride.

Infants

(Newborn – 2 years)

Babies will learn to self-regulate and explore their new world. They will begin to develop cognitive and language skills alongside large and fine motor skills. Math, science, and social development will be learned through play. Infants will participate in our Sensory and Art activities with the assistance and support of our teachers.

Toddlers

(2 years - 3 years)

Toddlers will continue working on the infant curriculum and begin learning how to listen and follow directions. In addition, they will master fine motor skills and begin learning self-help skills.

Toddlers will start to learn basic academics such as letter, number, and color recognition, using their words, and holding writing tools.

Language, literacy, cognition, Spanish, writing, math, science, art, and social development will become more structured. Play-based learning is still a large part of a toddler’s curriculum; however they will be challenged to begin focusing and thinking.

Preschoolers

(3 years - 4 years)

Preschoolers will continue to practice the toddler curriculum, with the understanding that each student learns at their own pace. They will begin to learn more complex academics such as counting to 50, adding, subtracting, the calendar, telling time, writing on lines, detailed art projects, and reading and understanding words.

Preschoolers will also begin to learn social and life skills such as listening and following directions, sharing, respect for others, care for their community, and spatial recognition.

Pre-K

(4 years - 5 years)

Pre-kindergartners will confidently demonstrate all the skills listed above. They will focus on communication skills, cognition, literacy, comprehension, language, math, and writing.

Science and dramatic play will be a large component in the Pre-K curriculum. We emphasize listening and following directions, composure, and social etiquette to ensure all students are ready for a kindergarten classroom of 30 children.
